DPF Codes P2002 and P2463: Meaning, Causes and DTC Off
Last updated
What do P2002 and P2463 mean?
Codes related to the DPF differential pressure sensor, for example P244A and P244B, can appear alongside them.
- P2002: Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) efficiency below threshold, Bank 1.
- P2463: DPF restriction, soot accumulation.
Why they appear
A DPF traps soot and burns it off during regeneration. If regeneration keeps being interrupted, for example by frequent short trips, soot builds up and the ECU sets restriction or efficiency codes.
Common causes
- Repeated short trips that prevent regeneration.
- A blocked or cracked filter.
- A faulty differential pressure sensor, or blocked or leaking sensor lines.
- Injector, EGR or turbo problems that create excess soot.
- Ash build-up in a high-mileage filter.
Check these before disabling codes
Inspect the differential pressure sensor and its pipes, check live data, and try a forced regeneration with a scan tool. Fixing the cause is always better than hiding the warning.
DPF DTC off for Denso ECU files
For competition and off-road vehicles, upload your readout, choose the correct generation and list the DPF codes you need disabled, separated by commas. Several codes can go in a single request.
Read the flashing checklist before you write the file, because checksum correction is done by your tool.
⚠️ Modified files are intended exclusively for competition and off-road vehicles. Using them on public roads may violate local regulations and is the user's responsibility. See our Terms & Conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Does DTC off clean the DPF?
No. It only disables the selected codes in the ECU file. A clogged filter still needs to be regenerated, cleaned or replaced.
Can you disable several codes in one file?
Yes. List all the codes you need, separated by commas, in a single request. A request costs 20 credits.
Can I use the modified file on a road vehicle?
No. Files from this service are intended exclusively for competition and off-road vehicles. Using modified ECU files on public roads may violate local regulations and is the user's responsibility.
